Letter to the Editor: Bultman for County Board

Thank you to my neighbors and supporters in District 19 for braving snow and ice to cast your votes for me in the primary election last month. I was humbled and honored to be chosen by you. This Tuesday, April 3, we again have the opportunity to participate actively in our representative government. I encourage all eligible voters to exercise your right to vote. Small issues or large, voting matters.

It is my goal to serve County Board District 19 and I ask for your help to reach that goal. I am 48 years old and have been a community member of Baileys Harbor for almost 19 years. My son attends Gibraltar elementary and my parents also live in Door County. I am an Eagle Scout and current Cub Scout leader and youth soccer coach. I am a home and business owner. With a geology degree, I serve as a science educator, consultant to municipal governments and in leadership roles for five local natural and cultural resource organizations that raise awareness about the significance of the Niagara Escarpment corridor. I have been serving the Town of Baileys Harbor for 18 years as a firefighter and four years as Marina Committee Chairman. I was also a medical first responder for 10 years. I volunteer regularly with conservation and arts organizations.

Every morning, the breaking dawn reminds me that we basically live in National Geographic. This inspiring and vibrant Peninsula requires sound stewardship.  Whatever the topics and challenges, as long as we make decisions through the three spheres of good stewardship:  Environment, Community, Economy; we will be resilient. There are several relevant issues to discuss and I invite you to give me a call so we can talk about what is important to you. My phone number is 920.421.2283. I will hold at least one Town Hall style open house in the District annually.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Forward!

Bob Bultman
