Letter to the Editor: No Alternatives to Food

Regarding your note “Western Wisconsin Led Nation in Farm Bankruptcies,” it’s a shame that President Trump chose “big, beautiful coal” as his poster child for MAGA when everyone knows that it was farmers that made America great in the first place. There are many alternatives to coal but no alternatives to food. If you accept the premise that it is the role of government to step in and save private industries (which President Obama was crucified for), then why  would President Trump choose mining?
