Letter to the Editor: Not Elected, But Still Thankful

I would like to thank all of the voters in Nasewaupee who voted for me in the April 4 election. Although I am disappointed I was not elected as one of your town supervisors, I am still ready to help the town when called upon to do so.

I also thank everyone who came out to vote for the candidate(s) of their choice. It was a good turnout, and hopefully this is an indication that the citizens are becoming more interested in what is happening in their town and how the elected leaders take care of the town’s needs.

We can support our leaders and the issues only if we know what is going on. This election showed that many of our citizens do not know. If we want to do the right things for the town, we have to do them from a point of knowledge, not hearsay. So I urge you to attend the town board meetings often because the board does a very good job at explaining all the issues that come up, and there is no reason then to say, “I didn’t know.”
