Letter to the Editor: Senate Republicans Must Step Up

The Mar-a-Lago misfit has played his empty hand again. By ignoring the advice of cooler heads and bypassing Congress on his plan to assassinate a general of a country we are not at war with invites retaliation. He disregards international rules of conduct to service his ego, not his country.

Because of the inflamed situation, 167 lives were lost in the downing of a Ukrainian airliner. Errors in military operations are ages old. Technology caused Iran to admit this tragedy. I hold Trump responsible, in part, no matter how he spins it.

Sometime soon the Republican-led Senate will need to face the overwhelming evidence that proves he is unfit to lead this country and to save us and our institutions from his actions.
