Linden Gallery of Door County Features Twyla Gettert

The Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay is pleased to announce the opening of works by painter Twyla Gettert on June 25. The exhibition is an exploration of the joining of East and West, which has been the foundation of Brian and Jeanee Linden’s efforts in both Door County and China.

Gettert creates artwork in several mediums including monotypes, etchings, photography, and acrylic on canvas. The study of Chinese brush painting and Chinese calligraphy has greatly influenced her abstract art. After painting professionally for 20 years, she sought out a new way of expressing and seeing the world. In combination with printmaking (monotype), Chinese brush painting techniques, and abstract expressionism, she is continuing to explore.

“I love working with colors and blending them,” said Gettert. “Sometimes art and color stimulate and ground people.”

Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally. Her paintings are collected by both private and corporate art enthusiasts and have been purchased by over 60 corporations including MCI-World Com, Marriot Corporation, and Bank of America.

Gettert will be at Linden Gallery on June 25 from 1 – 5 pm. The opening reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit is on display until July 17.

Linden Gallery, open from 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located at 12001 Mink River Road in Ellison Bay. For more information call 920.854.2487.
