Lions Club Hosts Fish Boil, Brat Fry for Fall Fest

The Sister Bay Lions Club will host its annual Fall Festival Fish Boil on Friday, Oct. 13, 5-7:30 pm at the Sister Bay Fire Station on Mill Road.

Lion Cori Shanahan, past president of the club and chairperson of the fish boil, continues the original Scandinavian settlers’ traditional fish boil. Shahahan, along with a group of volunteers, recreate a part of Door County’s past.

Jerry Voelker and the Jolly Gents will provide musical entertainment.

The fish boil is a community event with the coordination and cooperation of the residents, fire department and local businesses.

The Sister Bay Fire Station is located at 2258 Mill Road, Sister Bay.

The Lions will also host their brat fry and beer tent on the corner of Mill Road and Hwy 42.

“Fall Festival is a major fundraising event for many non-profit groups which raise tens of thousands of dollars, enabling their volunteers to provide and support many programs to our local community and surrounding communities,” said Lion Butch Schramm. “A few examples include local food pantries, childrens’ centers, social service agencies, financial assistance for education, the annual Halloween Party, Secret Santa program, and supporting one of my favorite programs, the annual Wisconsin Lions Camp for children with special needs.”
