The Literacy Door County (LDC) tutoring program invites the community to an orientation on May 20, 4:30-5:30 pm, at Hope United Church in Sturgeon Bay to discuss what tutoring requires and how volunteers can be engaged in other ways. Tutor training sessions will be held May 21 and May 23, 4-6 pm, also at Hope Church.
LDC provides one-to-one tutoring for adults who struggle with English. Most students are immigrants, but LDC also provides instruction in basic literacy. Prior teaching experience or knowledge of a language other than English is not required.
A $25 fee covers the cost of class supplies. To learn more, visit literacydoorcounty.org or email [email protected]
