Local Designer Published in “Showcase 500: Art Necklaces”

Samara Christian, owner of Samara Jewelry Designs, in downtown Sturgeon Bay, has been accepted in the publication of Showcase 500: Art Necklaces. This book is part of an international book series published by art and design press Lark Books. As the title implies, this publication features 500 pieces from top jewelry designers worldwide. With books published every three years, this year’s publication focuses on distinctive necklaces made of materials that range from traditional metals to nylon, precious and semi-precious stones, fibers, and found objects.

The Showcase 500: Art Necklaces edition hits bookshelves July 2, and will feature Samara’s “Phoenix” pendant. It’s a one-of-a-kind, Glen Lehrer carved-druzy, set in 14K white and rose gold, trimmed with .384 total carat weight diamonds, and accented by one .06 carat round brilliant cut champagne diamond.

This isn’t the first time Samara has been selected to submit her work for publication; she and husband/co-owner, Greg, had three pieces accepted into Lark Books Showcase 500: Gemstone Jewels in 2010. Samara is “very proud to be a part of this exclusive book and to be included in a group of such talented designers.”
