Sevastopol High School student Ezra Linnan recently spent two weeks attending the Percussion, Steel Pan & World Music session at Birch Creek Music Performance Center among 20 other musicians from around the country.
The Birch Creek academy seeks to provide intensive, performance-based instruction to promising young musicians by immersing them in a professional mentoring environment. Now celebrating its 48th concert season, the academy continues to support a student-to-faculty ratio of approximately 2:1, which provides students with an abundance of personal attention from faculty mentors who are top music educators and performers. During their two-week residency, students attending the Percussion, Steel Pan & World Music session performed seven concerts alongside their teachers for paying concertgoers.
