Manners Matter

Dear Mary Pat,

I had such a great Christmas and New Year’s Eve, but I’m feeling kind of let down now that the holidays are over. It’s so bitterly cold, and it’s hard to get motivated to do anything. Should I be concerned?

Signed,

Dear How Low Can You Go,

The excitement of the holidays is now over, so it’s normal to feel a little blue. When you combine that with the freezing temps, it’s a recipe for some low spirits. If any of the following sounds familiar, it may be time for professional help:

• You think that Monday nights are perfect for viewing The Bachelor followed up by Conveyor Belt of Love (another new low for reality TV).

• You’ve yelled at snowflakes for falling on your driveway.

• You’ve noticed that your regular standards for dating plummet in the winter.

• You talk to the pizza delivery guy more than your siblings.

• You consider Ben & Jerry close personal friends.

• You think that the new drunk driving limit of .08 is reasonable, but so is staying at home with a 24 pack…for yourself.

If there’s nothing familiar above, don’t worry…cherry blossoms will be here before you know it.

Good luck,

Mary Pat
