Manners Matter: Litterers in Door County

Dear Mary Pat,

I was driving behind a car recently and someone on the passenger side threw a wrapper out the window. I was so annoyed! Then two minutes later, down the window goes again and then a can comes flying out, narrowly missing my car. Who still litters these days? More than just a few from what I’ve seen on the side of the road. Door County is so beautiful and we do not need people leaving their trash behind. Could you please remind folks of this?

Not a Litter Bug

Dear Not a Litter Bug,

Is keeping a little bit of trash in your car such an inconvenience? What would prompt someone to chuck their garbage out a window or on the side of the road? It’s so thoughtless and tacky, not to mention dangerous to the drivers behind you. Who wants a Coke can flying at their windshield? People, let’s use our manners and be mindful of the fact that someone else is going to have to look at your trash and/or pick it up. So please resist the urge to litter and use the garbage cans that can be found all over the county.
