Maple Grove Retro Motel Plans Jam-Okies for Budding Guitarists

The Maple Grove Retro Motel and Pavilion is introducing acoustic guitar Jam-Okies for wannabe guitar players who want to have fun strumming and learning in a nonjudgmental environment.

Participants will watch the lyrics and chords – which have been remastered to make them easy to play and sing – on a large screen, then strum and sing along with the original sound tracks as if they’re part of bands such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pete Seeger, Don McLean, the Everly Brothers, the Archies and Hank Williams. 

The group is open to all levels of players. Just take your acoustic guitar (a CAPO) and join in. The first Jam-Okies are planned for July 17 and 31, 7-9 pm. They’re free, but organizers suggest a donation of $10, which will be donated to charity.
