• The Village of Sister Bay will discuss a proposal to purchase the Al Johnson’s Boutique property in downtown Sister Bay at its Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, March 9. The meeting is at the Sister Bay Fire Station at 6 pm.

• Northern Door municipalities and fire chiefs will continue discussions about the pros and cons of forming a Northern Door Fire District at a meeting March 29. The meeting will be held at the Liberty Grove Town Hall at 7 pm.

• The Town of Egg Harbor will vote on whether to sell its share of Fire Station #1 to the Village of Egg Harbor at the town’s annual meeting April 10. The town and village will meet again in a joint session April 21. The two municipalities split the cost of the facility evenly, but the village has sought to change the agreement to base cost-sharing on land valuation, which would reduce its burden.

• The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will hold a meeting about sustaining the state’s deer population March 10. The meeting is for Door and Kewaunee counties and will be held at Denmark High School from 6:30 – 9 pm. More information is available on the DNR’s Web site at http://dnr.wi.gov.

• The Sturgeon Bay School District will hold two more public information meetings about the April 6 referendum. Superintendent Joe Stutting will present budget and referendum information at the meetings, which will be held in the high school auditorium. Meetings will be held Wednesday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 16, and will begin at 7 pm. Mr. Stutting will hold a question-and-answer session following each presentation.

The referendum asks voters to approve a three-year, nonrecurring referendum to exceed its state-imposed revenue limit by $1.2 million for the 2010-2011 school year, $1.6 million for the 2011-12 school year, and $1.9 million for the 2012-13 school year.

• A U.S. Census representative will be at the Sevastopol Town Hall from mid-March to mid-April to answer questions or concerns regarding completion of your 2010 census form. Once a schedule has been established it will be posted on the town’s Web site at http://www.townofsevastopol.com.

• The League of Women Voters will sponsor a forum for Door County Board Supervisor candidates on Monday, March 22 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall at 7 pm. The forum features candidates in contested races. The event consists of anonymous written questions from the audience on any topic.
