Mark Moran to Appraise Items at Heritage Village

What’s it worth? That “family heirloom” or the junk in the basement could be worth something or nothing. To find out, ask appraiser Mark Moran on June 30, from 2 pm to 6 pm, when he visits Heritage Village at Big Creek.

Moran visited Door County last year and helped put dollar values on a lot of antiques. The appraisals will be made for a $15 fee; there is a $4 entry fee for folks who just want to watch the process. A portion of the fees will be donated to the Village.

Moran, who specializes in vintage folk art, has bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years. Moran is a former editor of Antiques and Collectibles Books and has been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine and a guest expert on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow.

Moran will appraise items in the areas of fine art, furniture, ceramics, glassware, vintage photos, advertising, folk art, toys, metalware, clocks and costume jewelry. He will not appraise specialty items including firearms, knives, fine jewelry, precious gems, musical instruments and watches. Contact Moran in advance at 716.281.5060 or [email protected].

Heritage Village is located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay. For more information call 920.421.2332.
