Master Taxidermist To Give Talk At Door County Historical Museum June 17

Master taxidermist Mike Orthober will be at the Door County Historical Museum in Sturgeon Bay on June 17, 10 am – 4:30 pm. He designed and built the museum’s nature diorama and he will be mounting a new animal for the exhibit and talking about the art and science of taxidermy.

Orthober, of Egg Harbor, is well known in the taxidermy field, having won many national and world-wide awards, among them “Best in World” for warm-water fish and “Second in World” for a non-game bird. He also judges World Taxidermy Championships and teaches his methods to aspiring taxidermists.

Stop by the museum on Saturday, or come in any time to see his beautiful exhibit. He will also hold two more demonstrations later this summer, one on July 15 and the other on Aug. 26.

The museum is located at 4th and Michigan and is open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm. For more information, call 920.743.5809 or email [email protected].
