McNulty charged

• Christopher McNulty was charged with first degree attempted intentional homicide for firing at police officers who came to his home to perform a welfare check Aug. 1. The 40-year-old Sturgeon Bay man was also charged with four other felonies and two misdemeanors. McNulty’s actions resulted in a seven-hour standoff with police that ended without anyone being hurt.

• The Town of Liberty Grove won a lawsuit against Wayne Lautenbach. Lautenbach had been fined $250 by the town for removing posts installed at the end of Old Stage Road to keep vehicles off an unfinished road through a wetland area. Lautenbach had requested a jury trial in his dispute of the fine.

• The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board voted to extend the deadline for counties to bring their shoreland zoning ordinances into compliance with Natural Resources Rule 115. The original deadline was February 2012. The new proposed deadline pushes that back to February 2014.
