Meadows Art Gallery New Exhibit Explores Artistic Directions

The Meadows Art Gallery installed eight artists in the Directions – Artists show, featuring eight different artistic directions.

Jan Comstock is a painter whose subjects vary from portraits to landscape. Working in oil paint her expressions are rich in texture and show the study she has done of “old master” technique.

Rob Comstock has dimension coupled with drawing skills. He is showing wood burning as a drawing tool, which is known as pyrography.

Mary Bosman explores all kinds of subjects. Her use of pastel and paint are crafted and concise. Her subjects vary but a story is present in each one.

Brigitte Kozma uses oil paint to bring a startling presence of light to her subjects.

Joseph Schulte explores the idea of change. His recording of marine subjects captures an industry that is changing along with the water landscape of Door County.

Beverly Branson’s compositions capture pure energy. Her images of trees and nature bring wind, weather, movement, line and color together.

Mona Barden creates landscapes and brings a sensitive interpretation to flowers and birds that show the uniqueness of each subject.

Kerry Vavra is a watercolorist. He plays with traditional techniques and emphasizes the small details in his work.

The show runs now through until June 29. The reception is June 9, 2-4 pm. Stop by, have a glass of wine and meet the artists. The Meadows Art Gallery is located at Scandia Village in Sister Bay.
