Meeting on Hybrid Learning Options Aug. 23

A public informational meeting to discuss hybrid learning options for high school students will be held Aug. 23, 6 pm, at Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay. Attendees should take a lawn chair and follow safety guidelines for public spaces.

A pod learning concept is being organized by some Sturgeon Bay High School families because of uncertainties surrounding the return to school this fall. Hybrid learning in Door County offers students the option – at no cost – of joining a small group of fellow students at locations away from the school while also participating in some or all of their classes virtually.

These groups, or “pods,” will gather at participating establishments that are within walking distance of the high school and that have ample space, facilities, Wi-Fi and volunteer adult supervision. In addition to the virtual-learning options available through the high school, individual students may also pursue independent virtual course options.
