City of Sturgeon Bay: 

The City of Sturgeon Bay will receive sealed bid proposals for the construction of the Bradley Lake Wetland Forebay until 1 pm on March 6, 2015, at the office of the City Clerk, 421 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. Construction shall not begin before July 13, 2015. The contract documents, including plans and specifications, are on file and may be examined and obtained at City Hall, 920.746.2912.

County of Door:  The county board meets at 10 am on Feb. 24. The Board of Adjustment meets at 6:30 pm on Feb. 24.

Town of Jacksonport:  The town board meets at 7 pm on Feb. 24.

Town of Sevastopol: The town board meets at 7 pm on Feb. 23.

Village of Egg Harbor:  The Plan Commission meets at noon on Feb. 24. The Harbor Committee meets at 10 am on Feb. 25.

Village of Sister Bay:  The Plan Commission meets at 5:30 pm on Feb. 24.

The Sister Bay Water and Sewer Utility has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to increase water rates. The increase is necessary due to a 22 percent increase in gross plant investment and 16 percent increase in operating expenses since the last water rate case was completed in 2007.

The total water revenue increase requested is $60,327, which will result in an estimated overall rate increase of 17 percent above the water utility’s present revenues. If the request is granted, the water bill for an average residential customer with a 5/8-inch or ¾-inch meter who uses 6,000 gallons of water per quarter will increase from $39.30 to $44.88, or 14 percent (not including the public fire protection charge), and will increase from $47.15 to $52.73, or 12 percent (including the public fire protection charge).

A telephonic public hearing on the application has been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 10 am in the Sister Bay Fire Station’s large conference room, 2258 Mill Road. Scheduling questions regarding this hearing may be directed to the PSCW at 608.267.2336.

Testimony can be submitted in the following ways:

• Web Comment:  Go to the PSCW website at psc.wi.gov, click on the “Public Comments” button on the side menu. On the next page, select the “File a comment link” that appears for docket number 5500-WR-102. Web comments will be received up until the day before the hearing.

• Oral Comment:  Spoken testimony at the public hearing.

• Written Comment:  Write a comment and submit it at the public session.

• Mail Comment:  Mail comments must include the phrase “Docket 5500-WR-102 Comments” in the heading and addressed to Docket 5500-WR-102 Comments, Public Service Commission, PO Box 7854, Madison, WI 53707-7854. Comments must be received no later than the day before the hearing.

The PSCW intends to webcast the hearing live on its website, under the “PSC Live Broadcast” button.
