Naturalist Guided Fall Hikes at The Ridges

Door County is famous for its spectacular views of fall foliage, and the trails at The Ridges Sanctuary showcase some of autumn’s most unique offerings. On Sept. 4, The Ridges begins its fall schedule of naturalist-guided hikes. Through October 12, hikes will be given at 9:30 am, Wednesday through Saturday. The fee is $5 for Ridges members, $8 for the general public. Children under 18 hike for free.

A naturalist-guided hike is the best way to learn about the incredible diversity of The Ridges Sanctuary. During a relaxed 90-minute walk, visitors will learn about the history and formation of The Ridges, the Baileys Harbor Range Lights and the plant and wildlife ecology of the area. Hikes begin at The Ridges Nature Center, located at 8288 County Road Q in Baileys Harbor.

Founded in 1937, The Ridges Sanctuary is Wisconsin’s first land trust, protecting the most unique ecosystem in the state. For more information, visit RidgesSanctuary.org or call 920.839.2802.
