New Appointments in the Town Committees

Welcome to “Notes from the Grove” providing information about Liberty Grove town government to residents and visitors.

• The Highway Committee decided not to name East Door Bluff and Door Bluff Roads Heritage Roads. They will send their recommendation to the town board.

• Michael Konecny of the Schenck CPA office in Green Bay presented the board with the results of their financial audit of the town for the year 2012. Several minor recommendations were made. A copy of the report is available for viewing at the town office.

• The board approved the low bid from Scott Construction of $95,166 for chip sealing sections of six roads in the town – North Bay, Wildwood, Mink River, Green, Skaugum and Homestead.

• Bill Surbaugh and Peter Sauer were reappointed to three-year terms on the plan commission along with chairperson Nancy Goss. The parks and properties committee was reduced from seven members to five. Supervisor Forkert and town chairman Lowry were removed from the committee. Michael Mercier is replacing Kubie Luchterhand on the economic development committee. Supervisor Farber replaces supervisor Forkert on the highway committee.

• The agreement between the town and Koepsels for the location of the coastal byways kiosk has been signed. A kiosk will be placed on the Koepsel Farm Market site.

• The shred fest and electronic recycling for Sister Bay and Liberty Grove residents is June 15 at Liberty Grove town hall. It runs from 9 am to 1 pm. Information is available at the town office.
