New Look – Egg Harbor Fire Station Completed

The Egg Harbor Fire Station renovation was completed in December. The station on Harbor School Road is jointly owned by the town and village of Egg Harbor, which split the $266,000 cost of the renovation. Improvements include a new meeting room for training and a dramatic re-facing of the exterior of the station.

The facility was built in 1974 and expanded slightly in the late 1970s.

After a year of tensions that nearly resulted in a split of the fire department, the two municipalities approved a 10-year intergovernmental agreement defining financial responsibilities and duties for the joint fire department and Fire Station #1 renovations in March of 2011 meeting.

The town owns the department’s other fire station on Cty I in Carlsville, which also serves as its town hall.
