Newport, Gwilym Recognized For Dark Sky Week

For the second year in a row, Sturgeon Bay resident Tom Gwilym, northern Wisconsin’s International Dark-Sky Association advocate, received an official proclamation of International Dark Sky Week from Gov. Tony Evers.

Evers’ proclamation reiterated the importance of Newport State Park as Wisconsin’s first international Dark Sky Park, and the goal of keeping the night skies dark.

The governor’s office sent Tom Gwilym this document for Dark Sky Week. Submitted.

Dark Sky Week is April 2-8.

“The last day falls nicely on the eclipse day,” he said.
