Northern Door YMCA Offers Virtual Dementia Tour

On March 3, 9:30 am to 4 pm, the Virtual Dementia Tour will be offered at the Northern Door YMCA, in partnership with Door County Medical Center, and volunteers from the Northern Door Health and Wellness Ministry, and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The Virtual Dementia Tour, created by Atlanta-based Second Wind Dreams, is the only scientifically proven method that makes understanding the effects of dementia possible. “The experience is so very powerful,” said Christy Wisniewski, Geriatric Outreach Specialist with Door County Medical Center’s Memory Care program. “We are so thrilled we can offer the Virtual Dementia Tour to northern Door County residents and professionals, where much of our aging population knows of or is providing support for someone with dementia.” Reservations are required to participate.
