NWTC Classes Held at Shepherd of the Bay

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) will be offering two courses at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay. The offerings include a First Aid Training Course on Wednesday, August 27 from 1 – 5 pm and a Heartsaver Training Course on Wednesday, September 3 from 8 am – noon and repeated Saturday, September 6 from 8 am – noon.

The Heartsaver course prepares the attendee to respond to a cardiac emergency where an AED machine is available. The easy-to-follow visual and audible prompts make it possible to train laypersons. A shock cannot be given accidentally. Adult CPR and the Heimlich maneuver for choking will be included.

Both classes issue Certificates of Completion good for two years. Michelle Hefty, an American Heart Association Instructor, will teach all classes.

Shepherd of the Bay will underwrite the cost for their members. Community members must call NWTC for registration and fee information one week before the class date. Persons over age 62 qualify for a class registration for $6.
