NWTC Earns Recognition For Maritime Job Training

Training programs and classes for maritime jobs have earned high honors for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Submitted.

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) is one of 32 worldwide designees as a 2024 Center of Excellence for Domestic Maritime Workforce Training and Education (CoE).

The designation, awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration, will enable the college to enhance and expand its technical training in the maritime industry, ensuring graduates remain skilled and competitive in their roles.

NWTC also received the designation in 2021. Since 2012, the college has trained nearly 15,000 new hires and incumbent workers through Coast Marine Manufacturing Training Center.

Recently, NWTC expanded a partnership with Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, Wisconsin’s largest shipbuilding employer.
