Obituary: Arline Elsie (Schwartz) Jorns

June 2, 1927 ~ July 20, 2022

Arline Elsie (Schwartz) Jorns 95, of Sturgeon Bay died on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Anna’s Healthcare.

She was born June 2, 1927, in Sevastopol to Henry A. and Elsie I. (Schultz) Schwartz. Arline married Edgar O. Jorns on June 22, 1946 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy, WI. They enjoyed 47 happy years together before Edgar passed away in 1993.

Arline worked several years at the Amity Leather Factory and later years at the family automobile dealerships, Jorns, Inc.

Her true love was caring for her family and entertaining friends. She enjoyed a good game of golf (she had two holes-in-one – Peninsula Park & McCauslin Brook) often beating family and friends. Arline also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, tending her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and going for a nice brisk walk.

Arline was a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church serving on the Altar Guild committee for many years.

Arline is survived by her daughter, Sharon A. Haines; two grandchildren, Scott R. Haines (Rebecca) and Holly J. Tlachac (Paul); and her great-grandchildren, Braeden Haines, Alyssa Perry (Kevin), Taylor, Sydney, and Nicole Tlachac. She is also survived by two great-great-grandchildren, Trent and Aubrey Perry; sister-in-law, Pat Schwartz; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar; parents-in-law, Herman and Lydia Jorns; son-in-law, Richard Haines; and her siblings, Edwin Schwartz, and Sylvia Zahn.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., July 26, 2022 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Sauer officiating. Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery where Arline will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edgar.

Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m to the time of service at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Arline’s family is grateful to “Anna’s Angels” for providing Arline with a quality life for over five years at Anna’s Healthcare. Also, the professionals from Unity Hospice who worked with the staff at Anna’s to give further care and comfort.
