Obituary: Beverly Ellingson

Dec. 13, 1947 – April 19, 2024

Beverly T. Ellingson, 76, died on April 19, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Marinette, Wisconsin on Dec. 13, 1947, to Frank and Michalina Pfeiffer. Bev graduated from Crivitz High School in 1966 and Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1968. Bev married Ron Ellingson in 1970 and enjoyed 42 years of marriage together and had two children, Stacie and Stephen.

Bev worked at Deaconess Hospital for 11 years prior to relocating to Door County. She started her over 30-year career at Sturgeon Bay schools in the Title I reading program. She spent over 25 years serving on the board of the Friends of the Door County Library where she held various officer positions.

Bev tirelessly promoted reading for children and literacy for all. She volunteered at Southern Door School’s Caring Closet clothing children in need. Bev was active in her local parish church where she volunteered many years at the food pantry.

Bev will be remembered by all who knew her as kind, generous, and thoughtful. If she knew it was your birthday you were getting a card. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Bev is survived by her 2 children Stacie (Nathan) Falk, Stoughton, and Stephen (Katie) Ellingson, De Pere; 6 grandchildren Madelyn, Adam, Seth and Ethan Falk, Grace and Lilly Ellingson; 3 sisters, Lorraine Gerhart, Dottie (Jim) Erdmann, Jeanne Pfeiffer; Sister-in-law, Michelle Tibke; Brother-in Law, Terril (Karen) Perrine, both from Washington; and many other in-laws, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; and 1 Brother-In-Law, Adolph Gerhart.

Services will be held at 10 am Sat., May, 25 at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. A visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Friday, May 24 at Forbes Funeral Home and then from 9 am until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Crivitz. Memorials may be given to Friends of Door County Library or Door CANcer. Forbes Funeral Home will be assisting the family. Online condolences can be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com
