Obituary: Carl A. Sampone Jr.

Carl A. Sampone Jr., 77, of Algoma and formerly of Sturgeon Bay, died at Door County Medical Center.

He was born in Sturgeon Bay to Carl and Margaret (Lake) Sampone Sr. Carl graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1963. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, 1963-67, and in January 1969, he married Lorraine J. Dietrich at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Carl painted homes with his uncle Louis Burlo after his military service until his fall. Then he worked at Badger Northland in Algoma as a material handler/forklift operator, as well as Sturgeon Bay Laundry.

His father had a boat, and he enjoyed fishing at the stone quarry and in the canal, and he liked going to the movies.

Survivors include his two children, Ann (John) Hamilton and Corey Sampone, both of Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren, Devan (Luke) Burdick and Dylan Sampone.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Margaret Sampone Sr.; and brother and sister-in-law, William (Margaret) Sampone.

There will be no public services.
