Obituary: Edward William Klein, Jr.

June 18, 1959 ~ July 13, 2021

Edward W. Klein, Jr. 62 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died at his home Tuesday July 13, 2021.

He was born June 18, 1959 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Edward and Clarible (Houts) Klein, Sr. Ed graduated from Morgan Park High School before attending Purdue University where he was in the first graduating class of the Computer Science Program.

Ed was employed with Integrity Security Services as an international software designer. He relocated to Sturgeon Bay where Ed involved himself in community through volunteering at church and for his Henry S. Baird Masonic Lodge #174. He enjoyed traveling throughout the world, volunteering and helping others.

Survivors include his three sisters, Nancy (Andy) Lewis of Alameda, CA, Kimberly (Gary) Pocic of Lemont, IL, Janet (Jerry) Schultz of Palos Park, IL; eight nieces and nephews, Virginia “Ginger” (Ryan) Dole, Maxwell Schultz, Kathryn Lewis, Jessica (Ryan) Dolan, Hailey (Michael) Burt, Graham (Sarah) Pocic, Carley (Brian) McAvoy, Ethan (Heather) Pocic.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Knapp, Sr. officiating. Friends may call at the church Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:10 p.m. at which time Masonic services will be held followed by the memorial service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Loaves and Fishes of Door County, Inc. or Door County Community Foundation, Inc. in Ed’s memory.
