Obituary: Michael Anderson

Michael “Mike” Anderson, 49, of Forestville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Unity Point Health – Meriter in Madison following a recent surgery.

He was born July 28, 1966 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Francis and Myra (Panger) Anderson. Mike graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1985. It was common to see Mike working at Thunderhill Raceway on Saturday nights in Sturgeon Bay as he truly never missed race night or any races there. He was a soft spoken, caring man who loved his nieces and nephew, Allyson, Emma, and Landon. Mike’s love for animals was evident when he was around dogs, Sadie and Ginger, and cats, Abby and Rosie. He enjoyed being at Thunderhill Raceway, watching sports, wrestling, NASCAR racing, and football games.

Survivors include his brothers, Dave (Eva), Jim (Marisa), all of Forestville; nieces, Allyson, Emma; nephew Landon; aunts; uncles; many cousins; and his pets, Sadie, Ginger, Abby and Rosie.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening, June 16, 2016, at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Pastor Tim Malek officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery beside his parents.

Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home, Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m.

The family would like to especially thank the Madison Medical professionals, Dr. Vega, all the nurses, anesthesiologists, surgical residents, Southern Door First Responders, and Door County Paramedics for their care and respect shown to Mike when he needed you most. And thanks to his friends at Thunderhill Raceway, especially Brian “Woody” Wodack for taking care of him, and helping Mike in so many ways throughout the years. He loved all of you!
