Obituary: Robert M. Olson

March 10, 1931 ~ January 24, 2021

Robert M. “Bob” Olson, 89, of Sturgeon Bay, died on January 24, 2021, at Door County Medical Center.  On March 10, 1931, he was born on the family farm to Melvin and Clara (Viste) Olson.  Robert graduated from Algoma Highschool in 1948.  On September 7, 1957, he married Lila M. Maedke in Algoma.  Bob was a life-time member of Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church where he served as the congregational secretary for many years and sang in the choir.

Survivors include his wife Lila; one brother, John (Dianne) Olson, of Forestville Township; two sisters, Carol (Edward) Krueger, Forestville; Marian (David) Schultz, Grafton; sister-in-law, Judy Olson, Sturgeon Bay; and numerous special nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alan, Gerald (Elaine), Roy, and infant brother, Donald; three sisters-in-law, Edith (Ben) Chemel, Muriel (Frederick) Walther, and Marjorie Maedke; two infant brothers-in-law, Orland and Leroy. 

Public visitation will be on 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.  Private family services will follow with Rev.
