Over 125 Artists and Craftsmen Featured at Craft Cottage

Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts, owned by Sue and Joe Jarosh, opened in 1984. Now celebrating 24 years in business, the Jaroshes feature the original work of over 125 artists and craftsmen.

The shop occupies the original main floor of an 1860s era log home that has been restored. A visit to the Jacksonport Craft Cottage will bring visitors back to the nostalgic “good old days” when quality gift items were hand crafted by artists and craftsmen who took great pride in their work.

Some featured highlights in the shop include: Amish made bentwood rocking chairs, side tables and stools, quilts, table centers and runners, wall-hangings, pillows, dolls, spice mats and rugs. Other items featured include: baby quilts, cloth dolls, children’s wooden toys, hand stenciled clothing, doll clothes, paper mache’ figures, exclusive functional ceramic pieces featuring the Door County lighthouses, concrete leaves hand cast by local artists BJ Cassidy and Lainie Kufrin, personalized Christmas ornaments; Halloween & Christmas corners and an exclusive series of ten Door County Lighthouse Pins.

The “gallery” area features the work of artists Audrey Off, Ken & Pat Klitzman, Bridget McCabe Matzke, Sister Clarice Steinfeldt, Marion Orlock, Richard Delcarson, Laurie Allen, Gail Ring, Sandra Pierre and Kari Anderson. Stop in to add to your Kari Anderson collection with Kari’s newest lighthouse print – “Keepers House on Plum Island.”

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage will also sponsor Amish Quilt shows at the Sister Bay Village Hall on July 17 – 20 and October 9 – 12.

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage, located at 6275 Hwy 57 in Jacksonport, will begin their high season hours on Thursday, May 1 when they will be open daily from 9 am – 5 pm.
