Overheard and Shout Outs: Feb. 1, 2019

OVERHEARD

Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“You have to work really hard to be kicked out of Walmart.”

“The pod hole runneth dry.”

“Is damp better than moist?”

“We do say things now that only old people know.”

“I can’t eat the cheese because it tastes like the ’80s.”

“Besides the smell, it tastes good.”

“Sobriety isn’t for everyone.”

“Once I saw Hooters I knew I could get home.”

SHOUT OUTS

Is there someone or something that deserves a pat on the back or a slap on the wrist?

“A big shout-out to both Unilever (the maker of Dove soap, TRESemmé hair care products, and other items) and CoverGirl for earning their Leaping Bunny certification.” ~ Sharon Thill

“Huge thanks from Cheryl and Steve to chef JR of Chives for his assistance pulling and pushing our old Benz out of the snowbank at the  slick corner of Red Cherry and Bluff in Baileys Harbor on a very cold (1 degree) Sunday.”

Shout-out to everyone who has to keep working out on the roads when everyone else is told to stay off the roads in snowy, snowy weather.
