Overheards, Obsessions, and Pet Peeves

OVERHEARD
Are there tid-bits of conversations you’ve heard while standing in line at the grocery store, serving a table, or walking down the sidewalk that make you smile, cringe or laugh out loud?

“I’ve discovered that Uncle Don is my idol.”

“Yeah, I picked this big bouquet over by that little white lighthouse next to the road.”

“It tastes like the Hamburglar’s feet.”

OBSESSIONS
Is there anything you can’t stop thinking about, listening to, watching, eating, or drinking? Obsessions are meant to be your of-the-moment fixation.

“I’m obsessed with the Tour de France! Perhaps I’m just a big sports junkie, but I soak up each stage like it’s a box office blockbuster. I wish I could ride my bike half as fast, stay in the saddle half as long, and bounce back from skin-scraping, bone-breaking crashes like those incredible athletes! ” ~ Allison Vroman

PET PEEVES

Is there something that really irks you, gets your goat, rubs you the wrong way, drives you up the wall, gets you bent out of shape, puts a stick in your craw, or makes you want to throw in the towel?

“Pedestrians who do not follow/know the correct rules of the road. People…listen up…Pedestrians must use footpaths or sidewalks where provided and, if walking or running on a road without a footpath, should keep to the left-hand side, facing oncoming traffic. Safety is key here and can save a life.” ~ Krista Lawell

“Mean people.” ~ Anonymous
