PAA Spring/Summer 2009 Grant Cycle Announced

For the last 72 years, the Peninsula Arts Association (PAA) has been supporting the arts in Door County, and with the organization’s Spring/Summer 2009 Grant Cycle, artists and organizations will continue to feel this support.

Since 1994, a large portion of the organization’s efforts have focused on ArtFund, a program created by the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) to provide funds to arts organizations throughout the state. The funds provided by the WAB are matched dollar for dollar with money that PAA receives through donations and fundraising and awarded to county artists and art’s organizations twice a year. In the last 15 years, the WAB has helped the PAA distribute over $500,000 to local artists.

For this grant cycle, PAA is looking for original projects designed by individual artists and organizations with a strong focus on the community. Individual applicants are required to partner with a non-profit organization and all projects must have a public component such as a workshop, exhibit or performance.

The current cycle’s timeline is as follows:

• Monday, April 27:  Grant cycle opens; applications are available.

• Friday, June 1:  Applications must be postmarked or submitted digitally for the technical review.

• Friday, June 26:  Applications must be postmarked for final submission.

• Sunday, July 12:  Application Review.

Please contact the grants administrator, Stephanie St. John, in order to request an application and set up a time to discuss the guidelines and projects. St. John will be available throughout the application process to answer questions and help in the technical aspects of grant writing. All first time applicants are required to submit to the technical review, though this is strongly recommended to all applicants. St. John can be reached at 920.327.1369 or by email [email protected]
