Pen Park Hosts Spooktacular Walk

Venture to the Peninsula State Park Nature Center on Oct. 4 for some stargazing. Beginning at 7 pm, University of Wisconsin Master’s and PhD candidates will share a 30-minute astronomy program, and then audience members can view the starry skies through a high-powered telescope. This program is free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required.

Peninsula State Park will also hold a candlelit Spooktacular Walk on Oct. 12. From 5 to 7:30 pm, families are invited to enjoy a mile-long candlelit trail, see a world premier Smokey Bear skit, and taste some refreshments by the bonfire. Northern Door Firefighters will be there too, showing kids firefighting gear.

Guests should park at Nicolet Beach. The event is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. A state park vehicle sticker is required. For more information call 920.868.3258.
