Poet Laureate Joins Dickinson Poetry Series

The sixth year of the Emily Dickinson Poetry Series at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County in Ephraim begins in April, National Poetry Month. The featured readers are: Estella Lauter (April 9), Hanne Gault (May 14), Jude Generux (June 11), Max Garland (July 9), Christine Swanberg (Aug. 13), Judy Roy (Sept. 10), June Nirschl (Oct. 8), Loraine Brink (Nov. 12), Rolf Olson (Dec. 10), David Clowers (Jan. 14), Youth Readers (Feb. 11) and Henry Timm (March 11).

Garland, the Poet Laureate of Wisconsin and Generux are new to the series; all the others have read previously. In the first five years of the series 58 poets, including 16 young poets from Gibraltar High School, read their work.

Readings are free and the public is encouraged to attend. They are held 7 pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the UU Fellowship, 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim. Brochures with full information will be available at the Fellowship and local libraries, bookstores and information centers.
