Prima Vera Strings to Play Final Woodwalk Show

Prima Vera Strings, a string trio composed of Lynn Gudmundsen, Beth Chafey-Hon, and Hans Christian, takes the stage at Woodwalk Gallery for the final concert of its Summer Series. The show is set for Friday, August 14 at 7 pm.

The trio favors Bach, Beethoven, Beatles (that’s classical, isn’t it?), baroque music, and many other styles.

Violinist Lynn Gudmundsen feels fortunate to have begun her musical training at early age when “life was simple,” and she credits practicing the violin as a youngster with most accomplishments in her life. In the past 35 years, Lynn has performed and recorded many different styles of music including classical, folk, country, pop, 1940s and bluegrass. “Primavera Strings has rekindled my delight for playing classical music with good friends,” Gudmundsen says.

Beth Chafey-Hon started violin lessons at the age of seven and has loved and played music ever since. Among the many private teachers she studied with, she was fortunate to have had the opportunity to take lessons from a professor and some students of the Moscow Conservatory soon after they had defected to the USA. Her main love and expression of music is through her composing and arranging.

Hans Christian’s musical life started with cello lessons in 1970 in his hometown of Hanover, Germany. In 1982 he went to Hollywood to pursue a life as bassist and cellist, performing and recording with many top-level popular artists, and picking up clues from numerous recognized producers. Since then Hans has greatly expanded his palette of instruments and body of work. His recent collaborations with Kim Waters under the name RASA established Hans as a nationally recognized player, producer, and composer. He has worked on many recording projects as a musician, producer, or engineer, and he operates Studio 330, a recording studio in Sturgeon Bay.
