Register Soon for Art for Health Workshops

Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC) would like to remind the public that the Art for Health workshops for children are beginning at the end of January. These workshops are free to the public and are very popular.

The Art for Health program is a series of free workshops for children, ages 4-7 & 8-12 years old, that focus on health, music and art using performance, demonstrations and other fun activities with popular regional and local visual and performing artists as facilitators. These classes strengthen each participant’s relationship with art and emphasize how creativity in a child’s life contributes to their overall health.

Each Art for Health session runs for five consecutive weeks. Participants can choose a Tuesday (ages 4-7) or a Wednesday (ages 8-12) class. The first sessions begin Jan. 19 and Jan. 20, and they run through Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 in Sturgeon Bay.

Classes include: Paint Me A Story (Jan. 19), Jewelry Making (Jan. 20), All That Jazz (Jan. 26), Musical Theater (Jan. 27), Paint Me A Song (Feb. 2), Fanciful & Fantastic Puppets (Feb. 3), African Drumming (Feb. 9), Songwriting for Kids (Feb. 10), Cooking Class (Feb. 16) and The Art of Storytelling (Feb. 17).
