Registration Still Open for Clearing Workshops

There is still time to register for The Clearing’s final 2012 fall season Workshop Program day classes.

“The Kaleidoscope of Poetry” with Wisconsin’s first Poet Laureate, Ellen Kort, will explore the beauty and the sharp edges of words that are essential to writing on Oct. 20.

As part of “Historic Kitchen Gardens,” on Nov. 5, Old World Wisconsin’s historic gardener, Marcia Carmichael, will show participants how to design kitchen gardens by looking back to Wisconsin’s ethnically diverse 19th century settlers and their kitchen gardening styles, heirloom plants and traditions.

Learn to “Make a Box with Hand-cut Dovetails,” with fine furniture and cabinetry professional woodworker Curt Wessel on Nov. 8 and 9.

Day Classes are held 9 am – 4 pm.

On Nov. 13 from 1 – 4 pm, a half-day class will be held entitled, “Decorating with Winter Greens,” with Mike Schneider. Use natural materials to make elegant indoor and outdoor arrangements to last the entire winter in sphagnum moss-lined baskets for outdoors and in containers for indoor display.

Registration is required, and tuition includes lunch for all classes (except the Nov. 13 half-day class).

For more information or to register call 920.854.4088 or toll-free 877.854.3225 between 8 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday; or visit http://www.theclearing.org.
