Restoring Shore Vegetation at Potawatomi Park

In recent years a dense growth of Eurasian Honeysuckle shrubs have developed in Potawatomi Park, a popular park for walking, bicycling, and observing nature. The shrubs displace the natural native vegetation and obscure the view of the water. In response, the Friends of Potawatomi Park have begun a program to remove and control this invasion and welcome volunteers on Saturday, June 5, from 9 am – 12:30 pm, rain or shine. The park will waive admission fees for volunteers, who are asked to meet at the picnic shelter at parking lot 2. For more information call 920.824.5193.
