Ridges to Begin Box Lunch Hikes on Oct. 21

Attend a Fall Wreath-Making Workshop on Oct. 17 at 2 pm, and learn how to incorporate natural items collected from woods, fields and yards. You’ll also learn to make fall candleholders. Meet at The Ridges Cabins, 8288 County Q in Baileys Harbor. Workshop fees are $10 for Ridges members, $13 for the general public and $5 for children under 18.

Explore the fall beauty of Logan Creek’s hardwood forest with a Ridges naturalist on Oct. 18 at 1 pm. Owned and managed by The Ridges, this 170-acre parcel is comprised of a variety of habitats and has frontage along both Clark Lake and Logan Creek. Bring binoculars and meet at the Logan Creek trailhead, 5724 Loritz Road. Hikes are $5 for Ridges members and $8 for the general public. Children under 18 hike free.

What’s better than a hike through the fall beauty of the woods? How about a hike that ends with a delicious box lunch and a lively discussion about fall ecology? The Ridges first Box Lunch Hike of the season will be held Oct. 21 at 11 am. Meet at the Cook-Fuller Center, 8166 Hwy. 57 in Baileys Harbor. Luncheon choices include gourmet sandwiches with sliced turkey or roast beef or a wrap made with seasonal fresh vegetables and hummus. Fees are $15 for Ridges members and $18 for the general public and include your box lunch selection from Top Shelf Café & Gourmet. Register and make a lunch selection by calling 920.839.2802 by 4 pm no later than Oct. 20.
