Rural Landscapes and Great Lake Freighters at DCAL

“Cornflowers” a watercolor painting by Barbara Sweeney

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery is featuring the artwork of Barbara Sweeney and Anthony Strublic for the week June 17 – 24.

Sweeney, of Sturgeon Bay, loves to express the colors of Door County’s rural landscapes in watercolor. Her favorite subjects include boats, barns, water, woods, cows and chickens. She has studied with Ed Fenendael of Baileys Harbor and Thea Kovac of Milwaukee. In addition to original watercolors, Sweeney’s note cards are available at the DCAL Gallery.

Strublic, of Marinette, creates detailed black and white drawings of Great Lakes freighters.

The DCAL Gallery, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, is located at the Top of the Hill Shops on Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
