Sandra Place Presents “Seasons of Snow”

Seasons of Snow, an exhibit of snow paintings, will be featured at Base Camp Coffee Bar in Sister Bay from June 15 – Aug. 15. Sandra Place of Santa Fe, NM, and summer resident of Egg Harbor, presents paintings that showcase Door County snow-covered subject matter captured in an impressionistic, sunlit style.

Place has supported environmental and conservation organizations for many years, as she feels an intimate connection with the landscape and all life forms on the planet. Place feels it is important in this tremendous time of change to find ways to preserve the beauty of nature and the resources of the planet in order to provide for a healthy, enjoyable and sustainable future. She has supported the work of The Door County Land Trust for many years and will donate 35 percent of her proceeds from her sales to them.

Place’s work is in many national and international collections, including The Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay and is also included in the book Celebrating Door County’s Wild Places. She is represented by The Paint Box Gallery in Ephraim and Clay Bay Pottery in Ellison Bay; and teaches workshops in pastel and acrylic at The Clearing in Ellison Bay as well as privately.

There will also be an artist demonstration and reception with Place at Base Camp on July 13 at 4 pm.
