Santa Fe Shop Features Artwork by Maria and Miro Kenarvo

Maria Kenarova and husband Miro Kenarov are working together to create unique pieces of art. The process begins when Maria creates a decorative ceramic panel, then Miro paints original artwork on the pieces of ceramic.

Maria Kenarova, a Bulgarian-born ceramic artist, received her Master of Fine Arts in 1989 from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. She works in the field of decorative ceramics and handmade ceramic sculptures. Her works have appeared in exhibitions in Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, and the U.S.

Maria moved to the U.S. in 1993 with her husband and son. Since 2001, she has lived and worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Miro received is Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. His deep interest in the technique of stone lithography led him to the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has worked as a graphic artist, art director, and producer for a number of U.S. companies.
