Savory Spoon Hosts “The Garden Lady”

The fresh herb and flower garden comes to the table at the Savory Spoon in Ellison Bay with a class led by Beth Coleman, “The Garden Lady.” On Saturday, August 14 at 9:30 am, participants will learn from Coleman’s vast knowledge on how to make herb and fruit-infused vinegars, pesto, and edible flower finishes to take home.

The delicious menu at the class includes French bread with caper parsley pesto, summer greens with warmed goat cheese and fruit vinegar, French country salad, lemon verbena ice cream with lavender sugar cookie, and edible flower finishes.

Attendees will make two vinegars to use in their own kitchen or to give as a gift. The class will conclude with a tour of Coleman’s beautiful garden.

Coleman has been an evolving gardener and designer most of her life, and for the past 11 years run her own garden design business: The Garden Lady. She has taught several gardening courses at The Clearing and is soon to release her first book entitled Gardening in the Dark.
