Sit Around Singing Begins New Season

Katie Dahl and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County will host the third annual season of Sit Around Singing, a community-wide sing-along gathering. People of all ages are welcome. No prior knowledge of music or songs is required.

This singing season begins Dec. 6 and will continue on the first Thursday of every month through May. The gathering takes place 6–7 pm at the UU Fellowship. Sit Around Singing will be held Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7, March 7, April 4 and May 2.

The group will sing from the songbook Rise Up Singing, which includes familiar favorites ranging from campfire classics and hymns to Beatles tunes. Copies of the book are available to use.

Local folksinger Katie Dahl founded Sit Around Singing with the hopes of creating intergenerational experiences of song and friendship for the people of Door County. Hot Cocoa, cookies and family take-home music activities will be provided.
