Snowstorm Reduces Blood Donations

The Community Blood Center is asking all eligible community members to donate blood during the coming days and weeks to help replenish the low blood supply after recent snowstorms greatly affected the center’s blood drives and donor centers.

When the number of blood products on the shelves is this low, the ability to meet patients’ blood-transfusion needs is potentially on the line because the Community Blood Center supplies blood to more than 40 hospitals. 

Eligible blood donors are urged to schedule a donation appointment as soon as possible at communityblood.org or by calling 800.280.4102.
