Southern Door Athletic Hall of Fame Induction for Class of 2019

The Southern Door Athletic Booster Club announces its Hall of Fame induction class for 2019. This year’s inductees are Keri Drake, Class of 2001; and Alex Tassoul, Class of 2010.

The induction ceremony will take place Feb. 8 during halftime of the Eagles girls basketball game versus Sturgeon Bay. The game will start at 7:30 pm.

Drake competed in cross country, basketball, and track and field. She earned all-conference honors in each of her three sports, including Packerland Conference Basketball Player of the Year during her senior year. She excelled as a distance runner and pole-vault competitor, and she was a WIAA Division II state participant. Keri Drake is a pediatric nephrologist at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

Tassoul competed in football, basketball, and track and field. He earned multiple all-conference awards, and was selected to play on – and was named captain of – the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State football team. His excellence in track and field earned him a WIAA Division II long-jump championship his senior year. He competed in track and field at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and he qualified twice for the NCAA Division III national meet in the long jump and on the 4×100 relay team. Alex Tassoul works at ETS Performance in Holland, Michigan, helping youth, high school, college and professional athletes to improve their performance.

The Southern Door Athletic Booster Club established the Hall of Fame to establish pride, preserve tradition and honor former athletes and coaches who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics through their performance and representation of Southern Door High School. Plaques honoring all inductees will be on display in the lobby outside the Eagle Gym.
